Good Advice - passed on.

This advice is just TOO good not to pass on ... check out Sue Holfeld's advice at The Bride's Guide:

For some reason, RSVP'ing to an invitation is hard for guests. And even some guests who are prompt to send their reply cards back manage to goof.

Their only tasks are to 1) write their name(s) on the card, 2) check "yes" or "no," 3) stick it in the envelope, and 4) put it in the mailbox. But many are the brides sitting there with a reply card in their hand checked "will attend" and wondering, "Whose RSVP is this?"
Because the guest forgot to write in their names on that little line that says: M______________________.

There's a simple trick that will help: Number your guest list. Then use a pencil to write the number on the back of the reply card. Sneaky smart, right?

So, we're BACK from our honeymoon and i've got SOOO much to share - about the wedding, honeymoon, and so much more. But while I attempt to unpack and get my life together, I thought i'd share this great idea I saw - look at these place cards from Timeless paper. How fantastic are these?!?

Even the peacocks look SO neat...

Mix and Match.. the more the merrier?

I'm finally back (I'll explain later) and have banked a few fun ideas from fellow bloggers that I wanted to share...

While I myself purchased custom stamps using zazzle, how amazing is this idea? Using vintage stamps, mix and match stamps in your wedding colors, creating a a chic rustic effect with a variety of stamps. See 100 layer cake on specific how-to's.

But I loved this idea, not only is it incredibly unique but budget friendly as well. Got to love that!!

Addressing the issue at hand...

Did anyone read the ETSY profile of Elizabeth from nelladesigns? Check it out here. It's a really cute story. (Finally some uplifting news in this economic downer) **Update - just saw that the story was pulled off the ETSY website (Grr... anyway, keep reading, Nelladesigns is still fantastic!)

Not only are Elizabeth's designs affordable, but SO DARN cute. But you know me, I go a little nutsy for bird things (maybe it's a phase?) ha. Anyway, check out a few samples of things she sells in her shop. So fantastic!

So the fiancee and I are not living together yet, but I couldn't resist these fabulous address labels. (again, do I score any points for thinking ahead? ;) I'm trying to control myself.. but I'm LOVING this cute print. AND she customizes... choose your color, your photo and add in your wedding date. My own Kissing Tree

Surfing around the wedding blog world this morning I found this fantastic resource... go here to make your very own kissing tree. Kissthegroom is offering free customized kissing tree graphics. Trying to save money? This free artwork would make fantastic invitations, stationary, or even a sweet valentines gift (okay, I know it's only April... but you can't blame me for thinking ahead). Anyway, check it out!

ACK... I'm researching creative ideas for our place cards. Anyone have any fabulous ideas/suggestions?

Wouldn't these be perfect for a vineyard wedding? (read:: inexpensive and fun!)

It's too bad these don't really match our theme.. i'm LOVING all the little bird details!

Map Quest...

Having a destination wedding, or having a wedding where MOST of your guests are from out of town? I love the idea of a wedding map. I originally fell in LOVE with Laura Hooper's maps, but they were a little out of my price range. However, but I loved the animated and romantic look of her maps - they are fun yet helpful!





So, my stationary guru sprinkled a little design dust and produced and AMAZING map for me - that was AFFORDABLE!!! See below, the map turned out so cute, and she's customized to include things I love (read:: Bloomingdale's!)

I plan on having these printed on tote bags as a welcome favor for out of town guests. Looking to save money? No need to go directly to a 'wedding specialist' - have the map created using a GREAT designer, then have a marketing company print them on tote bags. Map graphic = affordable, tote bags =$2.00 - allowing me to provide a fun welcome gift at a GREAT price!

Now, I'm in need of ideas for what to put IN the tote bags. I've collected maps and tour brochures.. but need a few more ideas???
